INCREASING POPULARITY OF HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY FOR CHRONIC CONDITIONS

HBOT IN THE NEWS

HBOT CONTINUES TO MAKE THE NEWS!

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment in which a patient breathes pure oxygen inside a pressurised chamber. HBOT is used to treat a variety of medical conditions, and is also sometimes used as an adjunctive treatment for wound healing and to improve the outcomes of certain surgeries. In recent years, the rise in popularity of hyperbaric oxygen therapy has brought the treatment into the limelight, being featured in tv shows, books, podcasts and articles.

Tony Robbins, a well-known American author, coach, and speaker documented how HBOT improved memory problems and fatigue in his book, Life Force. The book describes How New Breakthroughs in Precision Medicine Can Transform the Quality of Your Life & Those You Love, and HBOT was featured, with a prominent physician, Paul G. Harch M.D. being asked to write a piece. His feature was Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – A Treatment Whose Time Has Arrived – which is especially fitting given the treatment’s recent rise to fame.

Dr. Joseph Mercola – a prominent physician and natural health pioneer who has been featured in TIME magazine and Forbes, as well as various news programs and talk shows – runs a popular podcast Take Control of Your Health, which leads listeners on a journey to optimal health. In Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – Discussion Between Jason Sonners and Dr. Mercola, Dr. Jason Sonners discusses the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), which he has been studying for over 12 years.

The rise in popularity of hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been shown on tv channels across the world, with Fox Business in the US and 9 News in Australia, showing that the increase in attention is not limited to a single location either. With year-on-year growth predicted to rise by 8.3% per year until 2028, the demand is only set to continue growing.

HBOT is popular because it is not only an effective treatment for certain medical conditions, it is also relatively non-invasive and has relatively few side effects, which makes it a good treatment option for many patients. Historically used to treat decompression sickness, and in recent years, HBOT has also been marketed to help with skin rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, and anti-ageing, which has increased its popularity.

However, it is important to note that HBOT is not a cure-all and is not appropriate for all medical conditions. It is important to discuss the potential benefits and risks of HBOT with a healthcare provider before starting treatment.
